Insects never have the chance to eat wild persimmon fruit unless the area is completely void of wildlife including birds. Persimmon fruit from the wild American native trees will provide an excellent persimmon fruit food choice for deer, turkey, and grouse. Deer, opossum, and coons love the wild, ripe, persimmons, and at night a deer will stand and wait patiently beneath a wildlife persimmon Tree with an opossum up in the tree jumping from branch to branch, shaking persimmons loose and waiting to feast on the fruit that falls from vibrating branches.
