The Pee Wee Hican nut is named after a short Texan man who discovered this treasure growing in the wild and propagated it by grafting it on pecan rootstock commercially. The Hican Pecan tree produces delicious nuts that are quite large and are very easy to grow. The 'Pee Wee' Hican can mature in the late Fall, and the nuts are huge and larger than most pecans or hickory. The nut shells are fairly hard, looking much more like the Hickory nut. The Pee Wee hican tree is a bi-generic hybrid cross that is considered by food gourmets who taste it, to be the most deliciously flavored nut ever offered on the commercial market. Ty Ty Nursery offers several sizes of this unique hybrid for sale. Normally a pecan tree such as Desirable should be planted with the Hican, so that the best cross pollination will ensure the production of a large nut crop.
