The Shumard Oak Tree, Quercus shumardii, likes wet soil and the lumber is very valuable for use as a veneer in furniture and for flooring.The leaves of the tree grow up to 8 in. long and have many pointed lobes, as they turn bright red in the Fall. The Shumard Oak tree begins to bear seed at 25 years with seed crops at 2-3 year intervals, and the tree is used for timber, wildlife habitat and food, and environmental forestry. The Shumard Oak Tree can grow up to 70 ft. tall with a trunk diameter of 5 ft, and can be found growing in Virginia down to central Florida and over to Texas and Kansas. The red and orange leaves of the Shumard Oak Tree are spectacular in the Fall months.

Delivery Time: Deciduous Flowering Trees & Shade Trees are shipped dormant usually December through April, weather dependent, shipping within ten business days from when the order was placed, while in the current shipping season. The actual delivery time will usually be within four to seven days following the date of shipping by Ty Ty Plant Nursery. Shipping Method: UPS Ground and Motor Freight if the proper arrangements have been made by the customer prior to shipping. Shipping costs do apply on Motor Freight shipments, not covered by any sales promotions.

If plants are listed by gallon size the plant will be removed from container and have the majority of the dirt removed to allow for the best shipping.
