Martini Rain Lily, Habranthus martinezii, is a choice flowering bulb for small gardens or for those flower bulb collectors who grow containerized flower bulbs. The Martini lily grows into large clumps of linear flat leafed specimens, that are covered after rainstorms with one foot flower stems topped by single trumpet shaped pink flowers that will re-bloom several times during the year. This lily is cold hardy in zones 8, 9 and 10 and the bulb grows to the size of a pecan and multiples rapidly to form baseball sized clumps.
Marcia's Lily is a very important hybrid fertile hybrid that forms large clusters of trumpet shaped pink flowers with yellowanthers rising from a green throat and light green flat leaves. Once established the large clumps of Marcia's Lilies aggressively cover the ground to crowd out most other plants and weeds, and Marcia's Lily can be depended upon to rebloom several times repeating a season and again every year on their timetable. The blossoms from the Martini Lily Flowering Bulb can sometimes be one foot tall and five inches in width, and literally cover their planting area in a splash of pink. The lily of the Martini Lily Flowering Bulb is by far one of the most outstanding flowering plants.
Martini Rain Lily, Habranthus martinezii,Martini Rain Lily, Habranthus martinezii, is a great flowering bulb for the flower beds or landscape. This rain lily was introduced into the retail market by Marcia Wilson of Texas, shortly before she passed away. Marcia had a vast collection of rain lilies that she sold and exchanged with friends who loved collecting flower bulbs like she did. This rain lily flowers several times during the spring, summer and fall seasons, with the heaviest flowering following rainstorms, and the delicate, trumpet-shaped pink flowers are centered by stamens that glow with bright yellow ellipsis of pollen grains. Not only do the pecan-kernel, sized bulbs reproduce handily, but the seed pods contain viable seeds that will quickly sprout to form new plants.
