The Royal Medlar's fruit is a feast for the senses:
Flavor: These fruits offer a harmonious blend of sweet and slightly tangy notes, with hints of honey and floral undertones. Their flavor is nothing short of royalty.
Texture: When ripe, Royal Medlars have a unique texture reminiscent of firm apple or pear. They are best enjoyed when allowed to "blet" or soften, transforming into a delectable, custard-like consistency.

Harvest Time: Typically, Royal Medlar fruits are ready for harvest in late autumn, after the first frost has touched them. Bletting can take several weeks, so patience and anticipation are your companions.
Pollination: While the Royal Medlar tree exhibits some self-fertility, cross-pollination with a compatible variety can boost fruit production. Encourage pollinators such as bees to visit your garden to ensure a bountiful harvest.
