Cornell University hybridized this extremely cold hardy seedless grape from the Russian Seedless (Black Kishmish), that is blue-black in skin color, and the grapes are produced in huge clusters. The Glenora grapes pulp has a noticeably labrusca character that melts into a sweet delicate flavor with a refreshing aftertaste, somewhat like kool-aid. These Glenora grapevines are very productive, and commercial producers have increased the grocery store, grape size and shelf life by treating with gibberellin. The Glenora seedless grapevine will live in zones 5-8 and ripens early in August until September.
