Introduced by the Los Angeles, California Arboretum, the Elaine Agapanthus lily plant leaves form a rosette that will grow into medium stems of blue flowers up to 3 feet in height, producing a large clump with 8 inch wide purple flower globes that growing up to heights of 4 feet tall. The Elaine Agapanthus plant has very intricate tubular segments that form the delicate, blue-purple blossoms that grow profusely into an umbel shape.Elaine Agapanthus work beautifully in the landscape, growing well with other colored plants to provide an amazing contrast. The intense violet colored flowers of the Elaine Agapanthus plants radiate a unique iridescence high above an octopus-like spread of one-inch wide green leaves that spread outward from the compact center. The remarkable floriferous quality of the Elaine Agapanthus produces numerous stems topped by long lasting flowers. Very few lilies grow 6 feet tall stems like the Elaine Agapanthus rhizomes.
